How did Brian demostrate perseverance?

In the story"Fire Builder" Brian showed perseverance in many ways in his struggle to survive.

One way Brian persevered was when a porcupine had put its quills in him.He didn't just let it stay there he took them out.The author had said "having only 8 quills in you feeling like have a thousand needles poked into you.!He also persevered by colecting food (wild berries). Instead of saying i'm not going to do anything and just sit here.A diffrent challenge was that he struggle to make fire. When he almost does it will be a failure but he kept going and never stopped.Even when he failed he kept going.Brian survived because he took allthe quills out of him,made fire and found food for himself. Those are someways that i thought Brian persevered.
